Treatment of insomnia. Sleep inductor.
The Costa Rica product AL-Calm is a balanced combination of two known and very studied plants: Withania somnifera and Humulus lupulus. The proper combination of both plants has a relaxing and calming effect which is ideal to cope with stress and insomnia and to relieve anxiety and restlessness

Dose :
One or two capsules at bed time, oral administration .

Composition:
Humulus lupulus
Withania somnifera

Active Ingredient:
Sour acids (humulone and lupulone)
Withanolids

Therapeutic Indication :
The Costa Rica Ministry of Health has approved the following therapeutic indications for AL-Calm“:
“ Treatment of insomnia and sleep inductor ”.

Mechanism of action:
The sedative action is due in first place to the presence of aromatic compounds from lupulus that have a mild sedative effect and also to the presence of withanolids from Withania which have an effect on the adaptation process; this action reduces stress and provides an adequate relaxation at the time of sleep. The product also shows an anti stress activity as a result of inhibition of the peroxidation of lipids and the increase in the levels of enzymes such as peroxide dismutase and catalase .

Adverse Effects:
Not known adverse effects

Contraindications:
Do not use this product in patients with hemochromatosis
Do not use this product during pregnancy or breast feeding .

Interactions:
It could increase the effect of barbiturates
Concomitant use of this product with other sedatives must be avoided
